Trackball problems!
So I guess the day has finally come...... I noticed a few weeks ago that i was having trouble getting the trackball to scroll up. It would still work it was just difficult to get it to respond. The problem went away until today. I tried moving the trackball up and nothing..... works fine going left to right and even down. Im not sure but i think it maybe getting dirty. Has any one else experienced this problem? What to do pinstack? Help!

Your handset is still under warranty so I would consider calling customer supposrt or going to your dealer

Re: Trackball problems!
Update! I pressed in the trackball and spun it in an upward direction a few times and then it started working again. I think its collecting dust and causing issues.

Blow your Pearls ball with a can of compressed air. Yes, if you love your Pearl you'll do it.... and no talking during. ;-)

Re: Trackball problems!
I had a similar problem, mine was sluggish scrolling upwards. I used a can of air and scrolled it around a bit, and now it scrolls fine!

Re: Trackball problems!
I would imagine it gets dirt up under the area the ball sits in just like a mouse with a trackball. I suppose there is no way to pop it out so to speak and clean underneath? Since i am a trackwheel type of gal i am unaware of what the pearls ball can and cannot do. lolol

I used a piece of paper (magazine cover) to fish in there behind the ball. Then I played a mad session of brickbreaker.

I pushed hard a couple of times in the direction it was having problems... seems to have fixed the issue as well.

I just received my Pearl yesterday and last night, the trackball quit tracking upwards. It would go all directions except upwards. After a few minutes of grief I removed the battery, powered it back up and it was working. OS glitch?

I have this problem intermitantly as well.
It seems to last for only a minute or so and it started on the 2nd day of ownership so I doubt that dirt was the culprit.
It affects ONLY the scroll up motion.
Is there a background process that is causing this perhaps?
OS bug?

I've had this issue too. I usually have it happen when I've got too many apps going at once. However I have had dust that I've had to blow outta there too.
OS glitch and dust have to be the culprits.

Boy was I glad to see this thread! I thought I had broken my trackball! I seriously dropped my Pearl a week or so ago, and that's when the sticky prob started. After reading these posts, I think it's just a usage prob. Maybe playing too many games? Lol. I blew my trackball out with some air after I read this, but I haven't had a sticky prob in a few days. I'll have to wait and see if that clears it up.since it happened to so many of us at about the same time, it sounds like some sort of weird system wide glitch.
