Default Beta testers Wanted: FlipSide MP3 Player for BlackBerry

Haemish Graham of electricpocket.com extends the following offer to the BlackBerry community...

Quote:
We would like to invite you to try the beta release of FlipSide, an MP3
player for BlackBerry from Electric Pocket. To
install FlipSide simply point your BlackBerry here (the installer is
about 70k).

http://flipside.fm/flipside.jad

Here are five handy hints.
1. Use the trackball to swoosh through your albums and bring up the
list of tracks.
2. Press space to toggle between pause and play.
3. Hold down space to skip to the next track.
4. Hold down the trackball to add an album or track to the playlist.
5. Press a letter to jump to and cycle through artists starting with
that letter.

I look forward to hearing from you in the group.
If you want to report a bugs or suggest features for FlipSide reply to this thread. The top posters will receive a free copy of FlipSide once the trial is over.

Just downloaded this beast!! So far so good. Excellent navigation as well as simple to use. My favorite part so far has to be the find album artwork! And I love that its slightly animated. Makes all the difference especially in a music player.

I'll probably make another post as soon as I discover more but I'm immediately excited by this app.!~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

Downloading!

There seems to be a lag between "next" and "previous"...and for whatever other reason, it skips to another song somewhere else inthe play list other than the next song inline on the album I choose.

Other than that, this is amazing! Seemless integration when I go "up" to the next song on the album and click that one, immediate stop of the current song and play of the one I choose.

I might just not be seeing it, but is there a way to "group" the songs---like i have 5 different birtney spears songs...can I group them into one thing?

I love the app though....alot like the iPhone app, and I love that one! The "animation" is great....Lovin the black background too!

Thanks. Just downloaded, will put some MP3's on the BB when I get home from work.

EDIT: I did have one MP3 on the curve. I like the fact that it is minimalistic on the screen while playing. I myself don't find a need for those graphical thingys while music is playing. Pardon my elaborate technical speak of graphical thingys, can't remember what they are called at the moment. I'm getting old.

Have a look in the menu and make sure that "Shuffle" is not selected.

FlipSide will read any tags in your music and organise it appropriately. If your music does not have tags we make a guess based on the directory it is in. Try putting all your Britney tracks in the same directory.

Alternatively add them to the playlist. To add a track to the playlist navigate to it and hold the trackball down. The playlist is the last album on the far rights, there is a menu item to swoosh to it.

Very nice app. I didn't think I would be putting music on my Berry, but I'm reconsidering!!

EDIT: How hard would it be to add a "find lyrics" option?

very nice looking app!

I don't see a "show playlist" or a "clear playlist" command in my menu. Can you tell me what these do and how to get them? Thanks.

Downloading now...will post back

Edit: After playing with this for only 5 minutes I love it. Very nice. Very similar to the way the iphone MP3 player works.

Excellent application. I have only been playing with it for about 20 mins or so and I have just one complaint so far. It finds my mp3 ringtones and makes them a part of the playlist as well. If there is way to select what folders to include or even just exclude it would be great.
The find biography feature, though not a make it or break it item in a music player is a nice little bonus.
Electronic seems to have done their homework on this application.

I just downloaded this app... so far I'm liking the display and animations! Will report back when I've played with it for a while.

I'm not finding any artwork, which I am sure is b/c my songs have been converted to MP3s and must have lost the tag in the process. Which leads me to ask - how are people putting music on their BB, that enables them to keep the artwork info?
