Angled keyboard? Different to say the least, but how practical is it? I know many "new" things just take time to get used to...but I can't see myself with a device like this...unless it's really simple to use and relatively easy to convert to..from traditional keyboards to this one...

Actually, I could see that working. Ergonomically, the slanted ket board is better. If you hold you BB with two hand and are typing w/ both thumbs, the slanted keyboard could feel more natural.

Though I never could get used to the regular ergonomic keyboard =P.

The layout for it looks like it'd be awesome to use with two hands, but a royal pain using one. Weird at first, but I think I'd get used to it after a while.

I like the idea. I have a split keyboard for my computer at home and love it. I think this would take some time to get use to but after that it would be great.

I feel like my hands would be angled odd while trying to type, just my $.02

Same shape as MOT Q. Where is the track ball? why is the charger port in the other side ?

Dave- I doubt that is the finished product. Its just the patent for the keyboard not the phone.

I think it my be a good thing to test out but one hand typing would be a pain. But at least its innovative in some sense.

Makes perfect sense to me. For smaller models like the PEARL, where most of use just one hand to type, the keys could all be angled like this /. For righties anyway.

Looks like a great idea. The fact that RIM has taken it this far is a pretty good indicator that they have probably done a lot of testing and the new keyboard has it's merits.

I'm just open minded enough to believe this could be a milestone development & quite successful once puts it into production.
