Also, how much faster does eliminating PTT make the Curve? Is it noticeable?

I performed this task without a hitch last night, thanks! However, I noticed that my BlackBerry browser startup screen now has that silly AT&T Big Blue Death Star logo instead, and has AT&T labeling. How can we get rid of that?

You don't really load the files, you more like replace the files you have, with those new ones, and load up the desktop manager, the program will look for your phone and notice there is an upgrade. If you follow the guide step by step you should be successful.

Thanks for the great post. Really helps and freed up my memory and got rid of that PTT that I so did not need

It is stated that it will also free up memory. My memory decreased from 20meg to about 17 meg.
It all went without a hitch but I don't understand the decrease in memory.

O2-UK 8300 Curve users should go to my-blackberryfromo2 website get the right OS to their PC's. It is a Genuine 02 Blackberry Website. Help & Support link, then BlackBerry handheld software link to files.

Link is called 'Download the O2 accredited version of the Curve handheld code'

You will then be able to download the zip in this thread and replace the Blackberry.alx file within your folder called 8300-v4.2.2.67_P2.4.0.29 as the code installs the extra files within its installation process to your PC.
