Do not delete Blackberry.alx from your phone.
On the 1st page of this thread you will find 2 files to download. One is for the extra themes and the other is for PTT deletion.
Deleting Blackberry.alx can brick your BB...

PTT is useless for me as for many. Therefore you can free some memory and have your curve run faster.

Files below were tested with O2, Att/Cingular and Rogers latest OS.

Download, unzip and place both files in :

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files

File blackberry.alx will unlock all themes

File platform.alx will remove PTT

Once you have installed both files you need to remove vendor.xml from your pc:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\vendor.xml

Then connect your curve to the PC and launch Desktop Manager.

If no message is shown during synchronization then launch Application Loader and simply press next a couple of times.

Your device will reboot automatically. Unplug after reboot and enjoy your new themes.

I finally got mine working and this is exactly what I had to do. If just put in the Loader Files directory it doesn't work. I had to put it in the \Loader Files\8300-v2.3.3.89_P2.4.0.39 directory So if anyone else is having problems I suggest trying to put the files in that directory

Where do I find the new Themes? I went into Options but I only saw the standard 4 themes that come with the Curve.

I am brand new to the Blackberry (just 3 days now). Still learning all of the bells and whistles!!

They should be in the same area as the rest of the themes if you installed the files correctly.

you need to follow the directions in this thread to unlock the 'hidden' vendor/carrier themes. otherwise, the only themes available for your device are what you have on it now, plus the 8700 themes in this section

It finally worked. I re-read the last few threads that mentioned putting the files in the actual OS folder. Must have missed it yesterday.

9 Themes become available Vodaphone, TMobile Zen (1) TMobile Zen(2), TIM Zen, Telefonica Zen, Rogers, Orange, 02 Zen, 02 Today.

Edit: They are locked because they are provider specfic as you can see from the name of the themes. Each provider likes to provide their own flavor.

OK....so here's yet another question! LOL! When I download the PTT suppressor...can I just do that one? Save it to my desktop (like anything else i download) and then run the DM? I have the Optus OS. I have always just saved stuff to my desktop, and it puts itself where it needs to go. Then I just plug in my phone and run the DM, right? I already have the themes unlocked, so I dont need that file.

I am hoping that by ditching the PTT that it will stop the resets from my phone

Your having a fun day sasha! Yes, just drop the platform.plx file into the actual OS folder.
Go to DM, run the app loader. Sometimes the app loader doesn't see the change, but just hit install, it will install.
